Cedar Waxwing in a crab apple tree. I have seen these little birds get intoxicated from the crab apples producing alcohol in their stomach causing them to fly into buildings.

Juvenile Black Throated Diver a scarce visitor, seen ridiculously close in Poole Harbour, it will not get a black throat until next year.

Juvenile Eider Ducks, also in the harbour.

We only get Long Tailed Tits about twice a year and then two or three very briefly but today 6 turned up, looking like a whole family. A bit hazy through the double glazing.

They only turn up here when it's really cold @strongylodon so I expect to see them soon. Just 2C/36F today.

I was under the impression that long tailed tits went around in gangs, I've only seen them once in my garden and there was a fair few that were here for a short time and then all disappeared at once.

I usually see four or more together Pete, never as individuals.

I'm a bit concerned about Spot, our remaining 17 year old crow. I haven't seen him for a couple of weeks. We consider him an old friend and he never hassles the other birds as there is always plenty of seed dropped from the feeders, by them.
