Unless it's on it's own, and is going through the motions or something?
The ones here seem to have been paired up [and presumably having eggs/fledgelings] for a while, as they were suddenly a bit absent, and just coming in singly now and again for food. They're more regular again now.
Prior to that, it was all posturing and territorial stuff as they sorted out partners etc.

I’m not sure. The pot is quite exposed as well - it’s almost in the centre of my small garden. I will keep an eye on it and see how things develop.

It could well be building a second nest for one reason or another. Robins start nesting early here and I’ve known a pair of robins to raise two consecutive broods in one season in different nests.

That's interesting @Dovefromabove. It's later here for birds nesting [of all kinds] so I think they only have one clutch. I expect in the south many more birds will easily have two spells of nesting. I think sparrows can have three in some years.

Our robins have young out of the nest already, I’ve been watching one parent feed a youngster today … baby robins are so adorable.

@CatDouch They are adorable indeed - also really funny - grumpy, ruffled and confused, as if someone has woken them from a deep sleep.

Little terns seem to be pairing up on the buoys before moving over to the nesting site on Chesil Beach.
A lone Whimbrel was feeding on the lagoon before heading North.

Interesting @pitter-patter We found a hornet in our kitchen last night. Checked that it wasn't one of the Asian types. But your photo looks very similar to what we found.

@On the Levels The bee is quite small - it’s on the forget-me-not flower. Some bees, especially the nomad type look very similar to wasps.

It’s back. It clearly likes the forget-me-nots.
