My pics were not wonderful either, I used the programmed mode with max zoom (in case I spooked the Gulls) and left it on 100 iso in poor light, should have changed to 200 or even 400. With cropping I lost definition. The slow shutter speed meant moving Ducks were not sharp,
I am still a novice with cameras and hardly ever use manual mode.

You've got to be joking, everyone on GC have seen the high standard of pics you take!!!
For me, on Monday, it was the combination of 'orrible low light and the howling winds that were making the feeders swing around like mad. How the Long tailed Tits clung on to the feeders in those winds was amazing!!

Good morning ,I think low light and ISO's make me a novice also, its relatively easy for me to get a half decent image in the summer;) when the winter months come its a different story, when yours truly can master these low light condition,I might just allow myself to move up a notch:)

                    Hi Fern

Deffo this from your photo , I thought you had me with this one !!!!

                    Angle Shades Phlogophora meticulosa
                    [IMG][IMG]

A highly distinctive and unusual moth, which rests with the wings folded longitudinally, looking very much like a withered autumn leaf.

The adults generally fly between May and October, in at least two generations, but can be found in any month The species is also a common migrant and can occur in large numbers at coastal locations.

It occurs throughout Britain, commonly in places, and more so in the south.

The larvae feed on a variety of herbaceous plants.

Thanks for that Spruce, I thought you'd be able to identify it! :blue thumb:

I left it on the Clematis to be honest. I quite like moths and butterflies and my garden is a wildlife garden ....I don't mind it being there.
