Mr & Mrs Mallard, living life on the edge

The same weir has a fish pass, apparently Salmon can be seen leaping up the steps IMG_1088 (800x533).jpg

Black headed gull, posing so nicely, it would have been rude not to capture him IMG_1103 (800x532).jpg

And finally, another Robin photo, can't have too many of these IMG_1101 (800x501).jpg

My only contribution today on a walk around Portland Bill is a couple of poor Peregrene shots, there were a pair on a fence about 150 yards away, so difficult to capture with my camera even at full zoom.

        Today I saw:

        Peacock Butterfly
Brimstone Butterfly (for the first time!)
        22-spot Harlequin Ladybird
        7-spot Ladybird

and an Ant's nest has kicked off on the driveway.

And the usual Blackbirds, Collard Doves, Wood Pigeons, Sparrows, Robins, Coal Tits, Magpies and Dunnocks.

So, yeah, a good day really.

Fabulous Strongy, I know how difficult it is to capture these birds. I'm so jealous of Srungee's Red Kites, I wish I could get that close to these stunning Raptors.

I came across a Stock Dove/Wood Pigeon in the woods this morning, wasn't sure which until it flew into it's nest in a hole in a tree and turned round to face me. It is a Stock Dove, Wood Pigeons don't nest in holes and there is no white on the side of the neck.
They can be confused with young Woodies.

These are the only birds I saw last night as I opened the Green House Door:snork:

This one was sunning itself on the window frame.:)

While this one was asleep tucked in the rim of the window:snooze:

The parakeets are eating the red berries and sadly the redwings have moved on.

Good evening all my friends this year so far has been the worse year I can remember for wildlife here in Kent,I have visited all the usual places in the same period as the last few years and have spoken to many of my photographic and wildlife enthusiasts and they all say the same, birds sea, river ,garden and countryside ,foxes, badgers, ect are very thin on the ground and the ones that I do see are 3 times as fast as last year, even the Bees and Butterflies :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I thought I would just inform you of these facts as I am posting another Starling and a little Sparrow again:heehee:
