                Thanks Hsuh, it certainly has the same shape and general appeareance of the Sulphur Tubic Moth but what's "bothering" me is that the lines either side of "my" Bug are yellow along with the triangular shape on the rear. Having said that that difference could be due to timing in it's life cycle.:scratch::dunno::snork:

                You're right, Strongy...........but I know where all the Lily Beetles are...........Kristen's got them in his garden!!!:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

                Hi Marley, you're right, it's not unlike "my" Bug but hasn't got the yellow markings and is slightly rounder in shape and more "humped back".:dunno::coffee:

                We'll have to wait and see if Spruce gets an answer from the Natural History Museum:dunno::snork:

                There is a thought in the back of my mind though.........I only saw the Bug in a casual check of my Lilies while looking for Lily Beetles and it makes me wonder what other unfamiliar Bugs are out there that we haven't seen because we weren't looking when we strolled passed through our gardens.:hate-shocked::dunno::snork:

                Hi Jiffy, Well, we've been a global trading nation for centuries [although obviously not to the extent that we are importing goods from nearly every country in the world now] and it's logical to think that we've were [and are] importing all sorts of insects, animals all the time. They even come in on the plants that are being imported for sale in the Plant Nurseries of the UK. I guess some will be able to adapt to the new environment and climate and some will not......but you can bet your boots that it will be the nasty ones that will survive and not the beneficial ones!!:hate-shocked::snork:

                    @ARMANDII, are these images closer to your bug?

                    From your picture one insect has strong yellowish lines along its sides the other less so, I guess there is a male / female difference here.

                    Perhaps the metallic sheen on the ones in your photos is due to the way the light was shining?

                      What Sun????........that's been hidden behind clouds for days unfortunately.:dunno::snork: No, it was a definite yellow viewed from all angles but you're right about the male/female difference although like I said it's usually the male that's more brightly coloured. It's almost a twin in shape etc.....but the colour!!!!:dunno::rolleyespink::snork:

                          “Will you walk into my parlour?” said the Spider to the Fly,
                          'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
                          The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
                          And I've a many curious things to shew when you are there.”

                          “Oh no, no,” said the little Fly, “to ask me is in vain,
                          For who goes up your winding stair
                          -can ne'er come down again.
