That hasn't worked! They can still see a reflection in the glass. They're (I still think it's only one of them) attacking the glass all day as well.

Thanks for the suggestions but he's been attacking different windows that come to about 400 sq. ft! We don't want to reduce the light by that amount

As others have said Shiney, it may be a territorial thing, or he could be looking for a mate and thinks his reflection is just that. The chances are he will disappear in a few weeks at the end of the breeding season if you can stand it that long.

The only thing I can suggest is to stand a mirror in the garden close by and see if that distracts him, at least you'll get some sleep! :)

I'm less bothered about the noise as it rarely hits the bedroom window - I'm usually in the lounge at 4 a.m. (where it seems to have now picked as one of its favourite window banging places). The main problem is the amount of pooh on the patio and down the doors. It seems to prefer standing on the door handles, messing up the glass with its spitting and leaving great streaks of pooh all down the glass!

If it was a lone bird I would have done something already but it always appears to be with a partner. I can now recognise it as always being the same bird as it has a light brown spot on one wing. The other one just stays around the bird feeder.
