Sand Lizard, Holton Lee reserve, Poole Harbour.
This one is unusually all green on the back as it is normally Brown.

A suprise visitor in my garden today.
A blue Budgie,It was very tame I got to within 2 foot of it and it fed from the bird table.
BUT a flock of sparrows chased it away.
I would like to thing it will return but I doubt it.

It's a shame you couldn't catch it Roders, it will be attacked and chased by native birds.

Apologies for flooding this thread with pics but it is a good time of year as the Autumn migration is quite long.

                Brands Bay today.
I still haven't seen the Great White Egret that is here, despite it's colour and size it is very elusive.
Possibly one of the same Grey Plovers seen on Tuesday but feeding with some Turnstones.

Yellow Legged Gull, far off so it's difficult to see it's legs, but an uncommon relative of the Herring Gull normally seen in the Med and Canaries.

                  Great pictures Strongy! :)

I agree with you and sadly that won't be it's only issue, with the winter months on their way it's unlikely to survive through lack of food or the cold.

Holton Lee today, Jiffy these are better for ID, they often appear together and down here often with a Dartford Warbler and they are here all year round.

Although we have the spotted woodpeckers visiting our bird feeder most days, we haven't seen green woodie for some time.

I have to take the photo from way back inside the house as the green woodies are extremely nervous.

Saw these a few days ago in Brittany. Down in a place called Penvins in the Gulf of Morbihan. A lovely place, far away from the madding crowd,
