@Ellen we had them coming through air vents in a bedroom cause hubby blocked them in ! they had found a tiny hole in the brickwork and instead of him putting poison in then bricking them up he simply bricked them up so they escaped into the bedroom!! it was horrible!! we had to get a man that can out in the end! who pointed out hubbies mistake!

Not as scary perhaps as having a bath with your girlfriend (it's OK, I married her) when there's a wasp nest behind the bath panel and they're coming out of gaps around the panel into the bathroom and your only means of defence is flicking them with a towel.

Instead of flying straight in to roost just before dark, our new resident Blue Tit came for a look in the afternoon and kept popping it's head out, then flew off again.

I finally spotted the bird going into the bat box. :blue thumb: Unfortunately I only glimpsed its tail as it went in and didn't have time to recognise it. I waited 10 minutes to see it reappear but nothing happened :dunno:

You're on the case though . It looks like it's in residence for Winter so one day it will happen and you'll bump into one another......

I'll be careful not to walk underneath it as the access hole is in the bottom of the box!

I came across this creepy Looking chap a couple of weeks ago in my garden.. A Deaths Head Hawk Moth.. He was sadly dead, but that flying around the light would have been a bit freaky....! It was huge as the 50p shows.. They are not normally found here but common in Europe, apparently this summer has seen all sorts of visitors to the uk..[IMG]

Around the Colne estuary in Essex today. A wander along Wivenhoe waterfront, followed by a visit to Fingringhoe nature reserve. Mrs Trunky takes the credit for most of these photos (only the last one is mine).

Can't work out what the bird just behind the Lapwing is. Perhaps @strongylodon can help out with an ID?

I think I'm correct in saying these are Black Headed gulls?

Common Red Darter. There were lots of these buzzing around us in the sunshine as we walked along a woodland path. One or two actually landed on us!

Several Egrets flew across the lake as we watched from one of the hides. Anyone know what the collective noun for a group of Egrets is?
