A few more, bright light, full zoom and slight cropping has resulted in unsharp hazy pics but it's the best my camera can do.
      I hope I haven't overdone it!!!!

What is happening on the insect front with members around the country please?

The reason I ask is, after three years of seeing very few around my garden and neighbourhood it looks like there may be an about turn this year. Already there are large amounts, swarms if you like of house flies around the shrubs in my garden. Ants, bees and small beetles are about already and also quite a number of butterflies after seeing so few last year. What is also surprising is that these have appeared quite early in the season when temperatures especially overnight are still quite low. While better numbers of the insects we need are pleasing to see I'm getting a little worried about the number of flies that will no doubt increase as the year moves on.

Hmmm, it's not sounding good is it, I think we're in for an insect invasion of the nasties this summer.

With the warm and sunny days we've had in the past week there are lots of insects out and about, enjoying themselves. For example: peacock and tortoiseshell butterflies

I've had the odd fly in the house from January onwards. I've not noticed them that early before. There are now plenty of flies outside, I've seen caterpillars, ladybirds, butterflies, lots of different types of bees in the garden and there are lots of spiders webs about. The slugs are also on the march and i've seen some quite big ones already. :yikes:
