I normally do, if I'm planning to try to photograh insects. But of course, I was trying to get the flowers, and then these bees bumble up, and I forget. I can be a bear with very little brains, sometimes!

This made me laugh out loud this morning, @Lolimac ! Just before checking the forum, I had been delighted at seeing a single starling hopping across the grass.... Talk about one-upmanship!!:heehee:

Hi Loli,we have quiet a few Starnels in our village now and I too like the way they peck at the lawns to get rid of the bugs:snork:Saw my first daddy long legs in my green house the other day but didn't have my camera to hand and as it was high up couldn't reach it to kill it:snork:

With the removal of the overhead cables that ran through my garden all the starlings that visited have gone. :doh:Even the bird bath stays full now.

                      Have some of ours Sheal.

The adults brought the young into the garden for the first time yesterday. The Sparrows brought theirs a couple of weeks ago but are still feeding them. Pics from inside the conservatory.

Apologies for the poor picture, but look what I sound in my whites wash yesterday morning?!! image.jpg

Not easy to see from the photo, as he was pulsing his wings to raise body temperature (I assume), but about 1 - 1.5" long, and very cute furry legs!
(I think a pale tussock? Trying my hand at id, you see!!)

This fledgling Robin hopped right into the greenhouse when I was in there sowing seeds this afternoon and asked me for grub (a parent was in fairly close attendance), then it hopped out past me towards the chicken run and asked the Hens for food
