One of the other male Chaffinches doesn't have the foot disease and although not known for acrobatics will try when desperate.

Holes Bay this afternoon, five 'decapitated' Spoonbills. With their heads tucked in against the cold and wind they looked so comical.

Two Spoonbills (again!) which landed right in front of me and just posed plus two Swans, Spotted Redshank (L) and Black Tailed Godwit (R), also a poor shot of a Water Rail as it dashed to cover.

One made a great close up.

It's a pity it was so brief and didn't get a decent shot to show it's plumage off fully, they are a very shy bird.

I didn't realise how small Spoonbills were not having seen one in the flesh. :)

Now that GC is back on speed I can upload. As my upload speed is so slow I find it almost impossible to upload pictures whilst GC is having problems.

I never realised wrens have such big beaks!

Some of our pheasants (we've now counted five males and eight females who get very vocal if we try to do any gardening near where they're snoozing amongst our plants)

Five of our six robins appeared for the Big Watch. They all share the feeding area without squabbling. This one is finishing off what Sarafi the cat left.

had a big ginger dog fox pacing up and down along the back fence half an hour ago. I heard him calling yesterday evening. He's limping a bit though - one of his back legs,:grphg:

great shots Shiney, that beak is perfect for winkling out insects in tree bark.

They're lovely to see as they're around all day long. Unfortunately, they make a terrible mess of the lawn at this time of year. As the grass isn't growing they have worn away all the grass over an area of approx. 100sq ft. It's not from digging but just having them constantly walking around under the feeder.
