A family of pigeons enjoying the berries on my Firethorn this afternoon. How do they manage to avoid all those vicious thorns?

@Trunky i have a complete fence down the bottom of my garden coved with Pyracantha berries and I will be annoyed if the local Wood Pigeons eat them as I am hoping they last until the Redwings or Fieldfares visit the garden when the snow comes. My blackbird usually helps himself as well to some of them:biggrin:

Saw 8 Little Egrets on our walk this afternoon plus 1 Great White Egret but it was too far away for a photo but got good views through the binos:)

I can't decide whether this is a parade, or a game of follow the leader.

This doesn't really fit any of the parameters in the heading :noidea:

It wasn't Buzzing, wasn't Flying and definitely wasn't Today! :heehee:

It was about 50 years ago, or so. :old: Mrs Shiney has this thing about birds. She just walks up to them and picks them up, wild, domestic - it doesn't matter. I've quite often seen her pick up a swan but never had my camera with me! I don't know what this was but it was running wild somewhere. Sorry about the quality of the picture but I've just converted it from a 50 year old half frame slide.
