Slightly larger than a Chaffinch and smaller than a Starling Sheal.

I went to Studland beach to try out my new camera (Canon sx50hs) but it was a lousy day for photographing anything in the wind but I haven't got the focusing right, in any mode!

The pictures aren't bad Strongy for the camera's first trip out. :dbgrtmb: I have one and it took a bit of getting used to after my DSLR.

Thanks @Sheal, as you know it's not a new model but I preferred it's reviews to the latest one I got quite cheap as a bundle from the States, (16g class 10 card, bag, spare battery and card reader), I will need a lot more practice!

I only have a point and shoot camera which is on it's last legs. I need to go out and get another "photos for dummies" camera but in the meantime- all of the little birds stopped feeding and took off - wonder why....

@CanadianLori from the front it appears similar to our Sparrowhawk.

Mrs Strongy went to the 'Seniors' Tennis tournament at the R A Hall in London but I didn't so we drove there and split up and I went to Kew Gardens. It was a terrible day at Kew in 60/70 mph winds so I wasn't outside much and not a great deal to see inside but there were a few birds around.

Ring Necked Parakeets were squawking around in the trees.

The local Red Kites are now gathering in a different location around roosting time, used to be a 10 min walk with a lane running right past them, now they gather a further 5 mins away and across the far side of a field, counted 32 but there's only so many you can get in the frame
