We've had a lot of blue tits, gold finches & sparrows in the garden today but the nicest was by far the Robin sitting on the fence singing his little heart out! :wub2:

Really bad photo but today I saw @wiseowl flying around Suffolk!
              image.jpeg
Such a beautiful creature, I watched him for quite a while swooping, between the trees. I was worried about him being out in the daylight, surely there can't be a shortage of food? Does anyone know why he was out during the day?

I've seen Barn Owls hunt in daytime, it's not unusual but still a treat to see them.
One possible reason for day hunting is the weather. There has also been a number of Short Eared Owls found dead due to starvation this is because of the constant wind over the last month and the noise affects Owls ability to hear their prey. They will hunt when the weather is more favourable even if that means daytime.

Thanks for your reply @strongylodon, I didn't know the noise of the wind effected the owls ability to hear, but thinking about it that makes perfect sense. :blue thumb:
I was delighted to see him, they fly in such a graceful manor :dbgrtmb:

Shipstal point, Arne RSPB and my first glimpse of a Great Northern Diver and almost at the same time Eleven Spoonbills flew past, rubbish shots but a long way off and still having focus problems with this new camera.
