No close ups as they were very wary and may have just arrived from the continent.
A flock of around 200 Fieldfares (and a handful of Redwings) in a field just north of Corfe Castle.

A distant Wood lark, it's short tail distinguishing it from Sky Lark and Meadow Pipit.

                      Interesting,
Mr Namaste saw and heard a parakeet flying past this afternoon. In the garden, don't know whether it was a lone bird or not. Will keep a look out from now on,
                      Jenny

“the grey squirrel of the skies.”
yes, Sheal, a novelty whilst in limited numbers but we may well come to regret its spread,

I can't believe I hadn't seen this thread before! I always feed the birds I get so much pleasure in watching them from my dining room window. This morning I've had 3 wrens, they live in the back garden somewhere & really are so cute! They are busy all the time! 2 Wagtails (winston & Winnie!! ) Philip Pheasent! Starlings, sparrows, blue tits,8 gold finch, green finch, 5 Robins, blackbirds, great tits, long tailed tits, bullfinch, 2 doves & a pigeon! I think I've remembered everyone, my front garden is literally alive with birds all day, it's lovely. My neighbour said we'd had a spotted woodpecker too, I shall be delighted if I see him :). My biggest problem is cats, we have a lot of cats in the village so ground feeding is really out of the question, however hubby did fix me up a sort of high shelf so I can put a bit of food on there for the 'ground feeders', it seems to work well.

A brief stop at the outflow at Holes Bay again before going to 'work' and even though the tide was almost in, one Spoonbill was there again, it looks like a young one, keeping company with the Swans, also six pairs of Gadwall, an often overlooked duck.
