I have never seen a member of the tit family in my garden for as long as I've lived here. I also didn't realise how sick the tree is until I saw this picture.

That's a young one @Sheal so it is surprising that you haven't seen any adults at all.

Wasp Spider @Sian in Belgium, the ones here are usually found on heath or long grass and are still uncommon being in the northern edge of their range, I haven't found one this summer (?) so far.

I guessed he was a youngster @strongylodon but I didn't see any adults around. He was moving about in the tree for about twenty minutes before he disappeared.

This little guy was really tiny as my Clematis bell flowers are less than an inch in length.

Not a very clear picture but these two sit in the same place every morning between 5.30 and 6.30 at this time of year. It has been their just after dawn perching place for the last four years. How long do they live?

Sarafi used to sit and watch them but now he just ignores them!

Mrs Shiney got an emergency call earlier (from me :)) as a young wren had hit the window and was on its back on the patio and looked dead.

She did her usual emergency procedure (she gets called by friends to help hurt or unconscious birds - mainly because of hitting windows but has had to sort out a kingfisher brought in by a cat etc.) and picked up the bird whilst giving me orders of what was needed :love30:. I had to get some water, add two drops of Rescue Remedy and one tiny tablet of Injury Blend that she makes. She then feeds this to the bird with a tiny glass dropper.

It had just recovered consciousness and was just able to stand

Just a couple of drops put into its beak

A touch of the mixture put on its head

                      P1300275.JPG

She was also giving it Reiki

After about five minutes it suddenly perked up, bounced up and down a few times on the palm of her hand, had a pooh (always happens when they are nearly recovered) walked around on her hand a few times and then flew away

                      P1300279.JPG

It's quite possible that it will come back to her another day. This happens occasionally and she's able to just bend down and pick them up. :dbgrtmb:

Went for a short stroll along the Blackwater estuary at Maldon today. Managed to get a few photos of the bird life we saw. :)

These starlings were perched sunning themselves on the rigging of one of the old Thames sailing barges which sits by the quay.
