We can wait @redstar  we love to see birds from distant members (at least I do!).

@wiseowl In case you didn't know, your middle photo is of a Common Sandpiper, most winter in Sub Sahara Africa but a few lazy/hardy ones stay here!

I was stunned to see an Eastern Bluebird in our yard today. They are not at all common here in New York anymore, and to see one in the winter is very unusual. Still, I love having a pair hanging around the feeder.

Great shot, was seriously upset that I didn't accompany Mrs Scrungee on the early morning dog walk a few days ago, as I missed an enormous Fox with a young Muntjac in it's mouth stopping in front of her whilst they both looked at one another before it made off.

Very distant shot from 200 yards away, One of five Cattle Egrets (with Little Egret but with yellow bill), the other four are in Weymouth and this one decided to split and come to Wareham instead. Saw me in the distance and flew up into some Oak trees. Still not a common sighting.

@Jiffy They are primarily insect eaters plus the odd frog but not fish.
They follow large animals around picking of the disturbed insects, Elephants in Africa or cattle here. They mix with Little Egrets which also love insects as well as fish.
