@Sheal your bird is called a Dipper(Cinclus Cinclus) also known as White Throated Dipper or European Dipper and their home is usually along fast flowing rivers where they dive for the larvae of Cadissflies, mayflies, and any other invertebrates they can find to eat. When on rocks they have a bobbing motion and they can walk underwater as their bones are solid and not hollow like most birds bones are.

They nest in holes often behind waterfalls and will use the same nest year after year as long as it doesn't get flooded out.

I saw my first Dipper up in Derbyshire in 1979 and loved watching it flying fast along the river up in Dove Dale.We always look out for them when on our holidays and should be quiet widespread over a lot of the British Isles:smile:

PS,Your previous photo of the birds nesting in the pines could be Rooks if there are a few of them as Crows like to nest as one pair in a tree not in a Rookery where there are lots of them:smile:

Nice shot Sheal, last Dipper I saw was at Lynmouth in Devon a few years ago, there are none in Dorset, no fast running rivers.

Distant shot of a male and two female Black Necked Grebes in Studland Bay, soon off to breed in the Midlands and the North.

First sighting of a Snow Bunting, a rare winter visitor to Dorset, a nice looking female and quite confiding.

Thank you @Kandy and @strongylodon. :dbgrtmb:

Kandy I was looking at the crow/rook pictures again a few days back and thought then they were rooks, their beaks are different to crows. It was my neighbour that said they were crows and I hadn't bothered to take a closer look. :doh:I stand corrected. :)

I like the Snow bunting Strongy, a pretty bird. :)
