Woo, I often have some small pocket ref book tucked away in a pocket or my camera bag, or I rely on my photos I managed to get & look them up when I get home, but either way, never be self concious about it........ Wait for this..!!!

I was going out with my 14yr old grandson for a walk the other week & I had a pocket fauna book tucked in my pocket & he looked at me & the the book & said.... Ooooh.. :dh: A bit "Anarack like isn't it Gran.."!!! :rotfl::rotfl: I just shrugged & said "Off we go".. About an hr later he was asking me...!!! FOR THE BOOK...!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
:hehe: When I asked him who was the Anorack now, he just looked at me & burst out laughing & said... "I don't know what you mean"...!!!! Kids... :dh::D Good job he is a good & loving kid so you can enjoy it all....

Holly Blue and Speckled Wood, Woo. I had the very same ones in my garden last year.

The one above them is the Large White.

I caught this one the other day having a rest and I think it is a Monach. It did flutter it's wings a bit and this is when I though I recognized it as a Monach. :)

BTW, these are about the only butterflies that I can recognize.

When we used to go regularly to the Lake District with a group of friends we always used to take it in terms to recite poetry when we stopped for a breather. Sometimes people stopped and listened. One time, I was doing the old cockney rhyme/song called "Baby 'as Gawn Dahn the Plug'hole" when a group of walkers came by :o :hehe:. It was a bit embarrassing but they all laughed and clapped at the end. I just looked for it on You Tube but none of the versions were the proper cockney ones. Come back Stanley Holloway! :hehe:

Kedi, I am not sure what your butterfly is but I'm sure it isn't a Monarch as they are only found in Portugal and Spain (unless you are at Sis's:)). Monarchs have colouring on the underside of the wing and as yours appears to be very dark, almost black it's difficult to ID.

Oh, I didn't know that, and, no, I am not down at Sis's, I'm up here in Germany.

It was black underneath, and on the top there were some coloured spots, like I thought were on a Monach.

I better look through my booklet and see if I can find it.

    Thanks Strongy.

You did well snapping that holly blue, Woo. They never seem to stay still for more than a split second. We call them the ADHD butterflies.
