    A robin fledgling in the garden this afternoon:

    [IMG]

    There's several larger ones that are starting to 'colour up' and have been whizzing around at shoulder height for a while now that must be from an earlier brood, so I guess this is the first to have fledged to the latest brood.

      New ladybird to me, apparently it's a harlequin ladybird, there were two but one dropped off and I couldn't find it.

      It's supposed to be pretty invasive but it's very attractive.

        Not a very good picture as didn't want to scare him, but this green woodpecker seemed to be enjoying the ants on the patio.

          I was actually looking for butterflies but this dragonfly landed so I took him instead. :)

            Love the young Robin, nice whisps! and your Woodie Simbad, not seen ours for months.

            A superb shot mandy, very sharp, I presume taken with the fz45?

              That's even better :dbgrtmb::dbgrtmb::dbgrtmb:

              I have only seen a Swallowtail once, in Spain, perhaps I'll get lucky again in Mallorca later this month.

              You've got the subject beautifully centred there, your photography skills are superb.
              I too enjoy photography and the time and perfection required to get these exacting shots is worth every minute.

              Thanks Louise D, though less of skill and more patience I think.:heehee: It was quite gusty so lots of shots were lost when I pushed the shutter only to have the branches move out of shot.:gaagh:

              Today I mostly have been shooting Fritillarys.........and a humming bird hawk moth.:)

                After those incredible shots:dbgrtmb::dbgrtmb:, these are not really worthy.

                  They're a right pain to photograph aren't they. :heehee:
                  I'm no expert, but I think your moth may be a 'Magpie moth'. ( Abraxas grosulariata)

                    Today I got this tiny, fluffy bee thing. I didn't know what it was so had to look it up. Apparently it's a 'Greater bee fly,' we also have the smaller version which is only about 7mm long, so don't hold your breath waiting for a photo of that one. :heehee:

                    I also caught these common blues.........should get a room.:o
