I had a lay in this morning (7.00:biggrin: ) and missed the pair of them feeding so Inhouse Adviser told me, must get up earlier!

Here's a few dodgy shots of a Treecreeper entering and leaving it's nest (b*ggers won't stay still!) and a G C Grebe on her nest, Morden decoy pond this morning.

Have just seen the first of the martins this morning. They are so late this year.

Swallows and Martins are later this year.

Didn't take long for the pair to turn up.

Many thanks:thumbsup: I've seen them feeding quite frequently and had thought they were Green finches until I saw a photo by Strongylodon of siskins in his garden. Our son's got all our bird ID books away with him as he's working as a residential volunteer on an RSPB reserve. I looked at photos on the internet but found it hard to determine the difference!
              Thanks again.

I'm also confused. We have dozens of 'greenfinches' in the garden all the time but I'll now have to take a closer look to see whether they are siskins. That'll mess up my RSPB birdwatch :heehee:

              These are, I think, greenfinches.

Mrs Shiney can't resist picking birds up and being friendly. Somewhere in our thousands of print photos I have pictures of her holding a robin, kingfisher, blackbird, sparrow, goldfinch, chaffinch, bluetit, lots of chickens and ducks and a swan :hate-shocked:. There are also some pictures of her holding more exotic birds when we have been abroad.

Same as my pic Dave (only clearer) Male on the left Female on the right. Siskins have more black and yellow colouring, the male is distinctive with it's black head. They are smaller than Greenfinches.
