    Hi Strong..

Flocks of Redwings in the garden. They are enjoying the crab apples that are still on the trees plus other apples as provided.

In the woods the flocks are turning over the leaves in search of food.

Wonderful sight but it makes you realise how much colder it must be up country as we only see them in a hard winter.

:thumb: Have to agree about the high numbers Strongy.. We have many more Fieldfares & Redwings hanging around in the hedgerows this year than for many years now in this area... Plenty of food in the hedgerows this year as well to temp them I suppose..:)

After the Fieldfares and redwings a large flock of Lapwings and a smaller flock of Golden Plovers flew overhead down to the Bill.
I haven't seen any close up this winter.

most of the redwings have now gone, flown south I trust. Just a few stragglers left. The flocks have been huge.

This Fieldfare was in nextdoor but one's front garden this morning, they are flying around everywhere. Not very close but the best I could get.

Pleased for you Loopy, they are fairly common here (I live near two wetland RSPB Reserves) but I still get a buzz when I see them. They are so Elegant with their pure white plumage and bright yellow feet.:gnthb:

    Thanks guys.

The beetles were in Sis's garden, Strongy, no end of them! I looked them up on the net, and they seem to be harmless.

Peri, I put my name on using Picasa 3. I'll send you a screenshot via PM.
