Moth in house and garden 27 July 2012 002.JPG Moth in house and garden 27 July 2012 003.JPG Moth in house and garden 27 July 2012 005.JPG Moth in house and garden 27 July 2012 005.JPG Further piccies of yesterday's moth (#657). He'd crawled out from the flowers and parked under the door step. I decided to move him - again, as he would cook under there if the sun got to work 'cos it's south facing. So I've taken him for another walk to the opposte side of the communal garden (facing north) and put him at the back of a Berberis hedge. My book Collins Complete British Wildlife suggets he's a Scalloped Oak Moth. I think he's yummy.

They are spellbinding Mandy. And am I right in thinking you use a Lumix FZ45?
If so, I would love to know how you get such amazing detail.
                Congratulations:ktykss:

Yes I do. The Panasonic does a good macro. You do have to get a bit close. I sometimes get too close and end up touching what I'm supposed to be photographing. :snork: No good if you have a phobia of bees and the like!:heehee:

Um, I can't open or view your photos Mandy - Firefox won't let me :wallbanging: Very frustrating.

                  Edit -
Just tried with IE and opened them no bother, then went back to FF and they opened!
                  Cracking pix!!!
