Yes from the word merde. :) It's not that they frequent that sort of site. Just that they are everywhere and very common where we live. I used to call them that before I knew what their real name was, and it stuck. :heehee:

The Purple Loosestrife down by the pond seems to have come into it's own today for attracting the Butterflies, Bees and other insects as there were swarms of them visiting it. Nearly all of the Butterflies were Small Tortoiseshell........but I'm not complaining:hapydancsmil:

Great spider photo (and this from an arachnophobe!). Do love those bird pictures.

Saw this Comma butterfly yesterday on the buddleia - never seen one before. Comma.JPG Comma 2.JPG

I love the Comma's, Chiaroscuro, and those are great pics.:snork: I've probably only seen three or four this year, but I'm content in the fact that I've seen more varieties of Butterflies in greater numbers this year than I have for several years, here's to next year.:hapydancsmil:

Thanks. :) I was just going to say how lovely and clear yours are. Not sure if it's my handling of the camera or the wind blowing the flowers around but I seem to be getting a lot of blurry edges at the moment! Looks like the push for more wildflower and insect friendly planting might be taking effect. :dbgrtmb:

Actually, Chiaroscuro, I didn't think the resolution of your camera was bad at all.:snork: I've only just bought this particular camera, 3 weeks ago, which is a Pentax K5, and I'm trying to "get my head around it" The wind usually doesn't blow until you're about to take the picture!!!:heehee:. But I try to get a fairly sharp picture by using 1/125 of a second with whatever ASA speed it takes to get that shutter speed, and hopefully stopping any blurring cause by the wind [or me]. I'm also using a 50-200mm lenses but only because I'm trying to get used to using it. Here's a couple I took today but found myself struggling with the depth of field:dunno::roflol:

I guess it's just a matter of taking your time and getting your thoughts together when taking a shot. I shan't mention the number of shots I deleted because they were, shall we say, not good.:wallbang::gaah::heehee:
