:gnthb: Wow Veg fantastic to see such a thriving colony & their pollen sacks are so full, gosh I would say some lovely honey in the making there then.. You will have to show us inside the hive one day too when you look at the honey combs.. Incredible creatures, thanks for sharing Veg.. :gnthb: I had blackbirds nesting in my garden or the last few years in the grape vine but none this year so lucky you Nick..!! :thumb:

    How exciting.
    I didn't hear it sing.
It's to busy taking the berries off the ivy to sing LOL
I'll keep a speicial ear out for it .
    Thank you

    Lovely shots, Lyn, :gnthb:

I'm not lucky in catching birds but I did manage to get this, as yet unknown snake, in our driveway and front garden a couple of days ago -

WOW , my husband would have a fit if he saw a snake in our garden LOL
The Bird is easy to photograph it's there all the time .
It spends ages taking the berries.
Very strange how it does it, it flies into the ivy not landing takes a berry in mid flight then sits on the fence eats it then takes another.
This goes on for ages .
It's been coming for a week or so.
I'll try to get a video of it.

This pigeon wasn't buzzing or flying but I thought I should put it here anyway :thumb:

He came waddling across the lawn and plonked himself into the drinking water dish. He spent at least fifteen minutes having a good wash and even cleaned under his arms :hehe: and then waved his wings around to get dry.

He made a real mess of the water and I had to clean it out as it was so filthy.

This scruffy looking robin had a good wash.

Great pics everyone. Love the bathing ones Shiney, 'our' birds prefer to do it in our little 'fountain' but I haven't put it out this year yet so they have to make do with the proper bird bath, :)

    cheers

One of our semi-tame blackbirds. One has been feeding from my hand for a while, but this one just started today. I think it's because he is feeding nestlings as he packs his beak before flying off. The other bird will fly down beside me when he's hungry or come and look in the kitchen window.
