We are having crispy skinned chicken, with red wine mushroom sauce, carrots and new potatoes from the garden (Charlottes). We are trying one of those home delivery cooking kits for a few weeks (until the discount runs out), but the potatoes in it don’t look great so using our own. The crop is rather meager this year as it’s been very dry for Scotland this summer.

Snap ... I had Spag Bol pizza, T'other Half had Salami and chili on his. The best pizza I ever had was at Chico's in Palmela whilst we were staying in the Castle ... went there twice it was so good, loved it ever since.

Having a Rum (Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum) & Diet Coke now.

We made a soup earlier today utilising the crop of tomatoes that didn't look too prepossessing. Skinned and strained to remove pips and done with sweet potato (to give bulk and remove acidity). Some caramelised onions cooked in and a touch of herbs. Then liquidised the lot.

To follow will be roast chicken, crispy roast spuds, lots of freshly picked runners and then mango, cherries and melon with a naughty choc ice to end with. :hapydancsmil: Choc ices from Aldi work out a third of the price of a Magnum. :blue thumb:

The soup sounds nice. The meal is a winter one for me ... and FAR too much! We get Aldi choc ices as well but did get some mini Magnum Raspberry last week.

Quiche with extra cheese and onion for us later.
