I didn't mind the BBQ version, nice with hot dogs chopped up in it, hot or cold. The Aldi baked beans are nice.

We only have the reduced salt and sugar ones, we have a tin a week roughly, half a tin with a dinner and the other half one evening on toast for tea. We add beans to most meals ( not bake beans) and have a wide variety in our store cupboard and freezer. Fortunately we have a large International Grocery Shop in town and their range is truly amazing!

Yes they're good like that and sometimes on the chips instead.

I've mixed a egg with the beans then heat them up and cook the egg or use some grated cheese in them.

My usual Sunday morning. I've got dough going for hot pepper rolls, regular rolls and when it is time to bake them, I will also bake some muffins. I'm thinking of making some butter tarts too. But still at the thinking stage only!

Tonight is little chocolate bar night so I must make sure to fill my stomach with a low calorie liquid (most likely water) before the little ones come trick or treating. Being next to a box with some 150 little treats could be too much of a temptation!

And I have heavy cream to make the base for some ice cream. Think I'll make the custard style. :)

The plan was to make Finnish cabbage rolls, filled with pork mince, leek and whatever bits and bobs a cabbage leaf can hold. However, the cabbage that turned up from Tesco online was about the size of a grapefruit so the plan evolved into stuffed potato boats and cabbage casserole.

Both are very nice and freeze well but my soul still craves proper cabbage rolls :cry3:

Mmmm. love them but T'other Half isn't fond of the cabbage. Might do some for me and he can eat the innards because I do it spiced up a bit. He loves white cabbage though. coleslaw.

Done my meatloaf, minced beef and pork, green and yellow peppers (didn't have red), onion, salt, black pepper, cumin, Worcestershire sauce and with ketchup/cumin topping. Will cook in air fryer for 40 minutes. Peeled potatoes ready for creamy mash. Haven't decided if it will be green or lima beans yet.

Saute half a small onion then chuck in your baked beans, smoked paprika, a squidge of HP sauce and chilli flakes if you want as well - awesome!

Today it is chicken sausages cooked with pearl barley and sliced leek in some veggie stock, served with (my world class) roast tatties (!!!), kale, brussels and broad beans. Comfort food for cold wet days.

Three fried eggs, chips and crispy bacon.
A slice or two of crusty bread warmed up and buttered while still hot.

That's what I'm having tomorrow morning when I meet a friend for breakfast.

I guess it's a good alternate to what I had today and yesterday... This morning I had Christmas cake. And I'm still trying to decide if I have the motivation to cook a roast and yorkshire and the other stuff or what.
