Yesterday we BBQ'd loads of sausages and chicken portions , most of which were later frozen.
We had some of the chicken with a salad, no sweet.

Today we added a couple of the sausages( sliced) to some onion and chilli sauce along with herby cous cous and salad.

As we had picked some plums this morning, we decided to have a sweet today. Ice cream with both ( you have to live dangerously occasionally ) pomegranate and toffee sauce...oh forgot the healthy bit...the plums of course!! :roflol:

Due to an unforeseen and very pleasant surprise (swordfish on promo in the local supermarket) OH barbecued two whopping, delicious steaks with garlic and rosemary wedges and home-grown peas. No doubt this is the 'abundance' that HRH Macron is warning us that we'll have to give up. I will when he does...

I've got a very busy week coming up so did up easily microwave foods. Hamburgers and tube steaks on the barbecue. Macaroni casserole. Baked rolls and breads.

But everybody else's looks a lot more delicious!

Tagliatelle (still cooking) with kale, garlic, onion, bacon, cheese and lunchtime tomato harvest. Our plants now give a large handful for both lunch and dinner, exactly the amount we eat. It's so wet that the fruit burst the moment you touch them so are ideal for eating within five minutes. :)

Garlic. Or more accurately, GARLIC :yikes:

We visited foreign food supermarkets last Friday and got a haul of most interesting things plus a kilogram of Chinese garlic for a £ or so.

Today it all got peeled and pickled and our kitchen is totally sterilised against winter mildew with the rather heavy vapours of the vinegar with the cloves.

The Wunderkid decided to wear a mask (luckily we have one or two handy) to manage the jarring up but still we will probably need a visit to an eyelash specialist to replace the ones lost in the process.

Pickled garlic is lovely but the "making of" is rather hard core stuff :heehee:

                            garlic.jpg

Tomorrow it's the chilli pickling day, I'll give a report if I am still in a condition to type.

Last year I did pickled chillies and they're just as bad, it really gets into my throat and i cough a lot even with a mask on.

After having picked loads of courgettes and tomatoes today I made a cream of tom, courg and mushroom (had a punnet in the fridge) soup with coconut milk. We shall have some of it soon and we've packed seven containers of it and put them in the freezer.

To follow that I'm doing a lot of freshly picked French and runners, for both of us and Mrs S will have a salad and freshly made Imam Bayildi. Whilst I shall have new potatoes and ribeye steak with chillies.

To honour the queen I may make marmalade sandwiches later. :love30:
