Perhaps we should do a separate thread about old cinemas.

I made a batch of shepherds pies a while back, took one out of the freezer earlier, also some home grown broad beans.

We’ve god a boiled fruit cake gently bubbling away on the stove (it is “stir us up” Sunday!) ready for Christmas. Yet again I got confused between alcohol and water ….:heehee:

Meanwhile we have a chicken roasting in the oven along with potatoes, shallots, and garlic. Beans and carrots to be prepared later.

Today I'll be cooking Carbonnade of beef - beef cooked very slowly with lots of onions and beer. I'll have the traditional Belgian accompaniment of chips. :)

My local butchers version of chicken Kiev. It's not exactly true to the classic but nice and the chicken breasts are huge

Yes i always use sausages, get a knife, cut the skin open length ways and peel it off. I always buy taste the difference sausage from Sainsbury's, high in meat, 6 in a pack.

Just heating up the BBQ, going to smoke 1.5kg home cured bacon, a 2kg shoulder for pulled pork to freeze and I had a spare fore rib that will get done at the same time. Might have that for dinner

We make lots of different soups - all on the stove. Just made a very nice cream of mushroom soup with lots of mushroom, a courgette (gives extra bulk whilst not affecting the mushroom flavour) and coconut milk (Aldi do two types of milk and we get the one that is 76% coconut). The milk makes it nice and creamy and doesn't curdle unless cooked on a high temperature for a long time, which is not necessary as it is added towards the end, brought to the boil and then simmered for a few minutes.
