                      • Cauliflower bhaji, lamb Jalfrezi, pilau rice, poppadoms, Nan bread and mango pickle - followed by vanilla ice cream and now having a hot cup of cha before putting my feet up.

Later this afternoon it's minced beef which is 12% fat, we have 6oz between us with chilli onion mixed in gravy with potatoes, cabbage, peas, carrots, sprouts and gravy. We have cut down on processed meat like corned beef and i don't have sausages.
It's surprising how many calories is in meat, bread and potato but i couldn't give up potatoes.

                          Abgoosht.

Yes @Logan the calories can definitely sneak up on you unwares.

The above whole meal pot did contain 2 potatoes, lamb and chickpeas...with aubergine, courgette, tomatoes, broccoli and spinach....and lots of garlic and various spices. It's like a stew and every family has their own personal take on the original recipe that gets passed down and 'tweaked ' by each new generation.

We don't eat many potatoes one small bag will easily see us through the month. Hubs usually has a round of sandwiches or toast in the evening for supper. I usually have soup and rye crispbread. Once a week however I do have an egg on a slice of toast....with plenty of black pepper.....yummmmm!:)
