Whats going on with my Alliums?

Nope both are smooth

 

Too wet or too shallow then. Strangely, deeper means warmer and an earlier start. When the flowers are done, poke your fingers down the side of the stem and see how deep the shoulder of the bulbs are relative to each other. Just a thought.

I did try to plant them at the same depth but it wasn't like I was really measuring

Managed to get the tulips right but obviously not these. Oh well

 

Don't discount Spruces thoughts. What has been (past sogginess in this case) cannot be measured though, but the depth can be and confirmed or discounted.

 

I have solved the allium mystery the healthier looking pot seem to be all white alliums. There are only a few flowers open but they are white. Which is odd since i bought purple ones lol but it does explain things

No idea how i managed to put all the white ones in the same pot mind

I checked the planting depth of the purple ones n they are very very deep so thats not the reason for them not doing very well tho

 

Hee hee, that's what I was thinking when I read the problem. Waitrose problery did make a mistake (or whoever they buy them from)
