P1000529 (800x600).jpg Can I use Provado on strawberries growing in containers, I emptied them all out and started again earlier in the year because something was eating the roots, I found loads of little white maggot shaped individuals which I fed to the birds but I fear I didn't get rid of them all

Ok ... I'm going to be honest

I wouldn't want to put anything in my mouth that has been killing insects/bug etc
Can I ask .. Are you using fresh compost ? Did you clean the containers ?

What are you doing with the compost you empty out of the pots? Are you putting it on the garden ? Just guessing but sounds to me you empty containers onto the flower beds which then spreads the grubs around the garden .... Hence the pieris getting eaten ..........etc. Am I far from the truth ?

All fresh compost but the bottom 6" or so was horse manure to retain moisture but I think perhaps I wasn't diligent enough cleaning the containers

I'm not the man with the moth eaten Pieris, I just happened on this thread. By the way the original compost in my case was tipped out onto a large tarpaulin on the lawn and I let the birds do their work :)

Ah I apologise ...... Just think that the containers being wooden could easily of harboured a couple of rogue grubs

Horse manure is not a problem ................
I use my wife's floor steamer to clean pots etc .... Please don't tell her tho .......
