              Even the leaves of the Hammamelis can look good in their Autumn colour (looks fantastic in the early morning sun :dbgrtmb:) and it won't be long before the flowers start forming.

              The white heather is only just starting to flower. This picture is from the patch that is about 20sq ft alongside our front path. So it gives a lovely brightness and cheer throughout the winter.

                It has not been the best year for them. If you're interested they sell them in Lidl roundabout late April/early May for about three quid. It has a slight degree of hardiness but is ideally frost free over the winter.

                                We had to slice off another couple of inches from the poplar trunk again as it had sprouted thousands of shoots that were 4ft high and hiding the Eucalyptus that we had planted in it
