Biggest problem I find is that I keep the conservatory at a min of 10c right through the winter and often 20c during the day.
They are on most plants in one form or another, eggs or adults, it isn't really a single plant issue, I even get them on outside trees in the summer, so cold will not stop them overwintering.

As for the humid atmosphere that is often stated as killing them off, who wants to sit in 100% humidity in winter.

      Nice one Nigel
Reasonable cold doesn't actually kill the adults as they can go dormant over the winter. What it does do is stop them breeding and stops the eggs hatching.

I remember my battles with RSM far too well. It's the reason that I stopped growing Cantua buxifolia as that was plagued by it, indoors or out.

Yeah, I know they stop to some extent over winter at low temps, but they just come back next year as soon as things warm up.

Both Phoenix robelenii have now been brought inside, being shade loving they have suffered with sunburn as they were outside getting morning sun for a few hours (when we got sun!).

They have swapped places as this one was in the SW facing conservatory last winter but is now in an unheated E facing porch.

This one will now receive more Winter light.
