What's looking exotic in June.

I had no idea it had such a long stem - strange indeed. In the first photo I imagined it was just a foot or so high. I should have taken note of the other part of the name - elongata

Nice to see others have problems with washing lines when taking photos.

 

Pete, is that the Brachychiton from me ... ? Mine is now looking a bit more healthy this year and I think it will progress more. Sadly my P Victoria died on me ... I am struggling getting seedlings of P quadrangularis and P foetida out of seedling stage at the moment ... to hot and dry, me'thinks.

 

Yes the Brachychiton is one of yours Victoria, I think.

Maybe you should do your seed sowing a bit earlier, just an idea, so plants get passed the seedling stage before it gets too hot.

The large bush of Fabiana imbricata is now coming into flower, not sure my conditions are right as it gets very yellow at times, too alkaline I'm thinking.
But it still puts up a good show, strange to think its the same family as Brugs and Iochroma.

 

I love it. Nice tall stem for such a small rosette!

Believe it or not I moved it there to get some contrast (definition) into the photo!

 

I started them when we were 'cool' half in mid-October and the other half mid-February.

Pete - that Fabiana (well named) is glorious. My Christmas seed list is getting longer.

 

Fabiana is strange, I find,
in that the plant flowers in patches, at times through the summer, the picture only shows about a quarter of the bush, the rest is yet to show flowers

 

I was sent a cutting of Impatiens kilimanjari last year and it is now in bloom.............







It's only a wee little thing, but I love it!

 

A little bit of Australia that is surprisingly hardy if kept dry over the winter - Grevillea juniperina....................

 

The Pineapple Broom is having it's last bloom..going to miss it..has been beautiful
