One of my two Amaryllis Kolibri. Smaller flowers and plants than the ones you would force for Christmas and I think more in proportion. They're a little bit early this year, last year they were out in June.

Some pictures from today. Very pleased with how my layered concrete planter is turning out. More tulips and a alliums still to come.

We've still not got any tulips in flower and Choisya and magnolia still only just in bud, but we have plenty of early Spring colour around the garden.

Mrs Shiney has filled the big pots (hanging baskets just dropped in to the top) with pansies. They'll be replaced with other baskets at the end of May.

Although we've dug up the large area where we had the yellow lamium we have just the odd one about. I love their flowers.

The perennial maidenhair fern is coming back into leaf (we've had this patch for forty years). The leaves start off light green and gradually darken.

The names of these have slipped my mind for a moment  but they'll come back quickly when Mrs Shiney whacks me round the back of the head! :heehee:

Anthony, we've been doing it for so long that I can't remember whether it was myself or Mrs Shiney that thought of it. Going on most things that happen in the garden I think Mrs Shiney should take the bow. :heehee:

You can use any container to put baskets into the top. It not only allows you to change with the seasons but keeps the pot in good condition and lets you move the pot more easily.
