Ive only been away for a week, but spring has definitely sprung here:

This cutting from next doors Clematis armandii that I took shortly before they chopped everything down for no reason has flowered - I must find a home for it !
        --
        [IMG]
        --
If anyone has any clues what I planted here let me know ! I know they came from Angela Bulbs but I honestly dont remember what they were - looks like they are going to flower though!

Bananas still looking a bit sorry for themselves but theres definitely life - looks like all of them have survived the winter so should be in for a good show this year with a bit of luck.

        --
Rhubarb that I kinda wanted to kill & put a raised bed over the top appears to have enjoyed the experience .. I see crumble in my near future !
        --
New knuckles in the tree ferns - no winter protection for them this year other than a bit of fleece in the crown for the week we had snow - the brown fronds are two years old & I will tidy them up once the new ones get going
        [IMG]
        --
Salvia Carradona (I think - Ive lost the label) appears to have made it thru the winter, some of the others didnt but thats my fault for letting the pots dry out.

finally - Dracunculus vulgaris has appeared - what a strange plant that is !

Blimey - I need to do some weeding. And some dead heading. And some potting on.. so many tasks I will just have to pop down the pub & think about it :-)

I Nick, the bulbs are Fritillaries, they're commonly called Crown Imperial Fritillaries.

(The picture he quoted was your Armandii ;) )

Here's a few of the Daff's that are putting on a lovely display in my front garden this year. There's between four and five hundred that overlap in flowering time, starting with gold, white and then Pheasant Eye's which are just starting to bud up.

                            IMG_3852.JPG

                            IMG_3854.JPG
                            IMG_3856.JPG

This primula is looking a bit lost flowering in my two tier bed all on it's own. I've had to remove many of my plants as there's imminent removal of a telegraph pole in that bed and a trench is being dug through it tomorrow to put my mains electricity cable underground.
                            IMG_0764.JPG

Clematis Macropetala 'Wesselton'.....This is one of three young plants surviving (from 20 cuttings taken) I managed to grow last year and flowering for the first time. I've been battling the odds to grow these for three years having tried by 'the book' and without. The mother plant I have recently moved because of the removal of the telegraph pole it was climbing and in the process I accidentally broke off a few small pieces, so I buried those near the base of the plant in it's temporary home in passing. Today those pieces have made a mockery of me, they have all rooted and are above ground!
