We had this topic in the GW forum and I said without Mullein plant no mullein caterpillar even if they eat other plants too. I have no problem if they eat on it.
I was more upset this morning that one of the catmint didn’t survive longer than 12 hours. I covered it again. It looks like Nepeta Walkers is the favourite of the area’s cats.

I love the look of the various Nepetas but no way am I having them in my garden. I do my utmost to keep the cats out!

I have various Nepetas and have always had cats ... and none of them are interested in Nepeta ... nor the specialty cat grasses ... but they like the small decorative grasses.

Call yourself lucky to have found the ones that don’t care :)
Our cat, the one who died in July last year, even slept on it like she was in heaven. I made 3 cats out who love to nibble on that particular Nepeta, but the young shoots is what they are interested in not the grown plant. Once they have flowers something seems to change like we like the young thyme etc. not the woody one.

The two cats at the back don’t show any interest in my Nepeta. I’m delighted as now that I’ve discovered that it grows in sun and dappled shade and doesn’t get eaten by slugs I’ve planted lots of it! My favourites are Purrsian Blue and Cat’s Pajamas, naff names but nice plants :).

The blossom petals have started their annual float-down. So pretty, though I wish they could cling onto the branches a bit longer.

Clematis Koreana Amber is in full flower at the moment, it’s in a large pot growing up our pergola but with regular feeding it seems to do well

I grow Geranium Max Frei in the pot as well. Taylors Clematis nursery recommended growing a hardy geranium with the clematis as they’re shallow rooted and also provide shading for the clematis roots. Seems to work!

These anemones have just started flowering in the front garden. They were part of a "blue themed" bulb pack I bought half price at the end of the season. I've already had lots of muscari, and I know there are some pale blue alliums still to come. I'm sure there was a fourth thing, but I can't remember what - hopefully I'll have a nice surprise. 2024-04-21_13-25-24.jpg
