I think leaves and branches/twigs too, are just as lovely to look at as flowers
Even some weeds have pretty leaves, eg Herb Robert which I always leave a few of ...

I can't wait to see the Lilac in full bloom. It will be the first time after 3 years of planting the tree that we get its full potential.

The tulips on the right side are from Amsterdam and grow happily next to others of the same type since 2018 in that bed. The white one on the left is from 2017.

This really needs to be on a "surprising developments" thread, but I will pop it here. The story so far ... Last yr, I had some lovely lobelia plants called Sailor Blue, which grew to about 10 cms tall. So beautiful were they that I decided to experiment taking some cuttings. Of 5, only one made it. However, it seems to have aspirations beyond being a small bush. Here it is, currently at 70 cms tall! (Ignore the Heath Robinson support, tied to the tap!)

That's great @ViewAhead I've never thought of taking Lobelia cuttings, and that's a pretty one worthy of propagating isn't it ... I can see why it's called Sailor Blue

Indeed! Yes, I've never taken lobelia cuttings before, @Michael Hewett. I think the success rate was quite low as the stems are always very soft. There's no semi-ripe wood to use. I popped them in little pots in a propagator to keep the moisture in, and kept them on the windowsill in the unheated spare bedroom.

That looks very pretty - and healthy as well, @ViewAhead. It’s good to know you can take lobelia cuttings.

Rhododendron - bought last year in a small pot. It seems to have four separate plants growing. Would it be possible to split the plants and when would it be the best time to do it? It’s evergreen.

First aquilegia to flower. I always look forward to seeing what aquilegia hybrids appear in the garden.

I've never grown tulips, but this thread is making me rethink that.

Meanwhile, the cherry blossom is looking lovely.
