A friend gave me a small plant of this back in the spring, its scented and kind of hardy in the right position apparently.

@pete snap: Sinningia tubiflora. My first year growing it, supposedly hardy (-5°C - 1°C) as hardy as Impatiens tinctoria which I've had outside for a few years now; so I plan to try it outside at some point. It is pollinated by hawkmoths in it's native Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

The person who gave it to me overwintered it in a pot outside last winter.
But last winter was so mild I'm yet to be convinced that it would survive here in a normal winter.

But once I get it bulked up a bit and have some new material I'll be trying it.

I've only got two flowers atm, so not easy to tell but I think its one of those that performs after dark.
I've put it in the porch and I've got some ripe peaches out there so the smell of those is quite strong but up close a definite lemon scent.
