Another Hellebore starting to bloom, I think this one is called "Winter Moonbeam". It has beautiful marbled foliage.

It’s been misty all day here but the dry, golden grasses are providing relief from the gloom!

There's not much to see now, but here's what's there is ...

        Azaelia in bud :-

        White Hellebore in bud :-

        Pelargonium in a perspex shelter (and a few tomatoes I hadn't noticed !) :-

Just noticed today that one of my J Anemone White Swan has several flower buds beginning to open.

In a friend's garden here in Carmarthenshire (not on the coast) - passiflora in flower!

First single osteospermum opening! (The doubles haven't finished last summer's show yet.) Dozens more buds, so we will have to hope there are no frosts as it's got too big and heavy to lug into the garage overnight. :fingers crossed:

Yes it did feel quite spring like in the garden today @Sheal, but not for long, strong winds and freezing temperatures are forecast this week :thud:.

That is a lovely looking osteospermum, @ViewAhead! How did you manage to get it going so early? It is really pretty and jolly.

I had to open my big mouth about not wanting frosts!

Beautiful sky, @Plantminded! :dbgrtmb: We have had nothing but grey gloom for over a week now. Not a glimpse of the sun, dawn, day, or dusk! :dunno:

Sheer skill! I jest. Basically, I ignore it and let it do its own thing. I cut it back a bit around late Sept, because it was getting unruly. That lost quite a few flower heads, but after a quick rest, it perked up and now has loads of buds. I will feed it in the spring and water it most days. It seems content enough.

A bit of a cheat, but it can't go in the tropical thread, and lives in a cool greenhouse where I don't think the heating has switched on at all yet.
