That's great Pete, we used to have a lot going up the road but the council kept cutting it back with one of those tractors and a cutting thingy on it, it does make a mess of the branches.

 

Those things that thrash hedgerows rather than cutting them should be banned in my opinion.

 

Yes i agree, it's a easy way of doing it but it makes a mess of the grass too, especially when it's soaking wet in the autumn.

I agree and twice they've cut through the cables that supply my phone/internet because Open reach can't be bothered to bury them in the road.

 

It's probably because it will be too expensive to bury them.

 

All the phone/broadband cables are overhead around here apart from Virgin ones which are under ground.
Since the new so called full fibre has come along it's got really bad with cables and poles everywhere.
Sorry off topic.

 

Still off topic I know but all our cables just ran up the lane along the grass verges , they often got severed by hedge cutters. In the end we just had to keep a lookout for them and warn them.

After years of having to put up with it last month we finally got overhead cables
, we are the only property that they supply to.
