Just been out to take a few shots of Sarcococca. We have had ours for decades and can't remember the varieties. This is one with the pinkish flowers and narrower leaves. The bees are already working hard.

    White flowered variety
    upload_2025-2-21_15-57-59.jpeg

It still has lots of berries

And this shows you how big they can get. We prune it.

I'm envious. I've got a couple of patches that would really suit being filled with a big specimen like that! And how lovely to see the bees too.

What a fantastic tree @shiney really beautiful.

Well it’s so lovely to finally have a few bits of colour in the garden. My daffodils tête-à-tête are starting to bloom all around the garden.
          IMG_4447.jpeg

Including these … I emptied a pot last summer as I wanted to use it and tipped the contents under a hedge in the corner of the garden. It had some daffodils bulbs in it which I was too lazy to take out. I couldn’t believe it when I saw them flowering, some weren’t even buried as you can see in the photo! So much for planting them deep!
          IMG_4451.jpeg
I went to the garden centre to buy compost for the spring and ended up with a spur of the moment purchase, Camellia Paul Jones Supreme. I’ve put it in a largish pot for this year and if it survives I’ll plant it in the garden.
          IMG_4446.jpeg

Hellebore, can’t remember which one, and crocus in the background in my stumpery.

It was only six inches high when we planted it. :rolleyespink: Everyone that I know that has the Contorted Hazel hasn't even thought of removing the lower branches when it gets bigger. The branches hang right down to the ground. The trunk looks so good and you have the bonus of a flower bed underneath :blue thumb:

A clump of snowdrops. Not long now till everything starts growing again. I’ve been sowing pelargoniums and snapdragons inside.

Looking down from halfway up the slope. Skimmia, hellebores & hebes, then the daffodils which are growing in a derelict pond I filled in. That's still not the bottom of the garden ...

There is not much colour in my garden, but life is definitely coming back. I can see new shots starting and ferns are also looking good.

The tree fern has survived and will be tidied up later on.

I cut the Gaura and all other perennials down seeing the new grow.

This morning, I have sown flower seeds and hopefully, they work out.

Just for fun, I had sown new Echinacea in January and they really decided to germinate.

The Daphne gets first flowers and the smell is marvellous.

Whilst I was outside looking at how the daffodils were getting on I spotted a very early flower on my Geum Totally Tangerine!

I also noticed that something is eating the flowers and buds off my daffodils, is that likely to be mice or slugs? Never had this problem before!
