Never grown Wallflowers before - my father would be chuffed with me as they were his favourite in the garden - always had great clumps of them - don't know why I have never had them before - you have converted me Jenny!

It get bleeding cold here in West Oxfordshire. We suffer some winter lows on a par with northern England and a lot of rain.

It's totally hardy and completely blasé about where you put it too! Only pain about it is that it is variegated. Oh.........the slugs love the flower buds too.

            Fantastic!! :love30:

I love this time of year, the borders hardly have an inch of bare soil but everything is just on the edge of flowering, so a amble around the garden with a mug of tea is always something to look forward to.:coffee::snork:

It is indeed Fern. They're quite happy in the shade, it's planted on the north side of a wooden panel fence, a couple of feet from the fence and sheltered by larger shrubs on either side.

It does just catch a bit of early morning sun, when it seems to positively light up: this photo was taken around 7am today, before the sun disappeared behind the fence.
