So do we. Over time some have disappeared but others take their place but each year it becomes more difficult to walk amongst them without stepping on the flowers - and the bees that are all over them. Later in the year there are bee orchids and, just last year a couple of other orchids have popped up.

What the red chap in front, looking rather Gladioli like pls?

I'll remember to be careful at your next annual jamboree!

My favourite ... but only really because the flowers are so humongous long :)

Hi @shiney your Primulas are fantastic.
The third photo from the bottom is absolutely stunning, you couldn't have planted that out - you wouldn't have got the mix looking so natural.

Many years ago we planted some standard yellow cowslips and some deep red ones. The white primroses escaped from elsewhere in the garden and over nearly 50 years they have sorted themselves out quite happily. I would guess that some of the birds have also imported some.

I love the range of daffs you have @KFF - do you leave them in pots year round? When I've got a bit more space I'm hoping to concentrate on building up a variety for spring displays but I can't quite get my head round how to do it without having to spend a small fortune buying in fresh bulbs each year - the ones I grow in pots never come back reliably the way the ones in the garden do :rolleyespink:

Do you cut back your epimedium @shiney? Mines gone horribly straggly, with hardly any young growth so far this year.

Thankyou Perki. It's had a few adventures with first westerly, then easterly, gales. The big advantage with sinensis is it's lovely perfume.....

Yes, not the most striking colour or perfume, but the racemes really do get to 1m long as promised by the catalogues :)

@2nd_bassoon Yes, it gets cut right back before the new flowers start to show. Otherwise you never get to see the flowers
