I'm looking forward to seeing leaves on shrubs and trees, let alone flowers @Upsydaisy.

I agree about the blossom, what a beautiful sight @Jenny namaste

@Upsydaisy what beautiful photos, that statue in front the bench is lovely too.

We've had a fabulous day in the garden today, couldn't have asked for nicer weather.

Crab apple blossom, I'm over the moon with this :)

So nice to see all the bumble bees and other creatures back in the garden enjoying the sunshine :)

Beautiful, beautiful Upsy. I didn't know you had that bench. I bought Lavatera seeds because of you. Says sow April/May. I think your first photo should go in the Comp this month. ;)

Thank you @Sienna's Blossom , that statue I nabbed from my parents garden when we closed the house down and sold it in 2020 after my Dad ( remaining parent) passed away. My parents named her Donna and she was actually the water fountain in one of their ponds. The hole where the water flowed from I now use to place a couple of flowers in on special occasions/ days relating to family members.

Your pics are fab too, I especially love the 1st capturing a close up of the Crab Apple blossom and the gardeners best friend.... the Ladybird!! :)

Thank you Vicky, yes we have two of the same benches, one stays on the east patio by the kitchen door as we tend to sit out there for our morning coffee as it's an early morning sun trap!

This one faces west so is perfect for watching the sun setting. As it's in a fairly open spot the bench is removed and stored in the garage during the winter.

Last year we realised we had overdosed ourselves a tad too much with Lavateras :heehee: so we reluctantly removed a couple that got damaged is storms last year. I do love them though as once they get going they grow so fast and bloom constantly throughout the entire Summer and into early Autumn. That shingle area with the bench will soon fill out and should hopefully look very pretty....well the image I have in my head does, if could end up very different in reality!!

Thank you too for suggesting the double Tulip pic would make a good candidate for this month's comp. I will do that.:dbgrtmb:

Just to bore you with some more shots of the Primrose family as they continue to open throughout the garden. Almost all of them self seeded. Still loads more still to flower

@shiney Are they rape fields behind you? If I got a whiff of them from miles away, I started sneezing.

@Victoria yes. The crop changes over the years but varies between rape, wheat, barley, broad beans (for animal feed) and sugar beet. Beet and barley are the two more frequent crops and beet was traditional around here as they had one of the biggest sugar beet factories not too far away - it closed in 1999. Rape has become a less frequent crop in this area as we are in one of the driest parts of the country and rape doesn't take well to drought. They already have the giant sprinklers set up in the field!
