I have a soft spot for Aquilegias and am just building up my collection again after moving house last year; I just picked this one up for £1!! at the local fruit and veg shop, I love the vivid blue colour of it.....

A really nice set of photos simbad :dbgrtmb:

    Bilbo,
One of the reasons we open our garden at the end of May is because of the colour given by our aquilegias :thumb:. We have a few thousand of them. This is just a shot of the front verge by the footpath.

simbad, that isn't this year. It is just to show the mass of aquilegia that will be in bloom on the front of our place when our garden is open. Those are all wild types but look wonderful en masse. We have lots of wild ones and a fair number of cultivars.

This lovely gentle bloom welcomed us this morning :dbgrtmb:

Love that rose Bluequin and the ceonothus don't think any of mine will flower this year, too badly damaged last winter, new leaves are growing at last though.
Snap Shiney my orange poppy opened today too.

Papaver Rupifragum 'Double Tangerine Gem' bit of a mouthful, flowers are usually single first year but double after that.
