Well there are some real beauties in the posts this week - wish some of them were in my garden!

I haven't got enough colour right now either. Agapanthus are doing well, and in a year or two the various plants I have will make clumps ... but ... I'm not sure that I want more than a dozen such clumps, so I need to find other stalwarts for this time of the year to compliment them.

 

This time of year is Tricyrtis time. Here is the common T.formosana which has started blooming today.....................


I.balfourii will bloom through to the frosts, although you do need to deadhead. This is a self seeder.....................


My I.niamniamensis has recovered from the blackfly infestation. I keep it in semi-shade where it seems happiest.................

Never grown them but they do look quite unique - great colours.
