What's Looking Good In August 2013

A view of some of my garden today ...

This is a "Black Knight" buddlia, which began life as a tiny cutting that I was fortunate enough to lay claim to at ShineyLand back in May. Nothing is stopping this determined blighter from putting on a show of glory this summer though.

A busy, busy bee!



Created this bed in June this year and inspired by a garden I saw back in January when I was walking the dog. I've had this statue almost 30yrs and I think she looks quite lovely nestled away among the flowers.

And finally, another new bed this year displaying:
"Arctic Snow" hemerocallis peeping out from under poppy "Taffeta" and offset by "Little Boy Blue"

 

If I leave now I could be there in three weeks.

The Indian Bean flowers are stunning GA they look almost orchid like

 

Agapanthus steal the show this month. Thirty two blooms on the blue and twenty one on the white.

 

Ok, question begs to be asked: how might I capture those images, Our Mandy, so that I can get Mr T (esco) to put them on a canvas so I can have those on my wall????

The Leycesteria is actually my neighbours which overhangs my fence. Happy to send you a few cuttings if you like (I'm sure he won't mind).

 

Laurentia Avant-Garde , first flowers in early July . Photo below is them in a full flower with Easy Wave Petunias . They almost glow as the light fades.

 

Yes they are so much like a small orchid Simbad - delicate and perfect and the whole tree looks amazing.
