Great pictures Armandii and I love the seed heads!

 

Quirky seed heads Armandii but they have an attractive quality about them!

 

It's such a beautiful morning I just took random snaps. Nothing fancy, I'm very lucky to have such huge mature trees and just adore my Cedar, she's lost a few branches so her shape is somewhat odd these days but she's such a wonderful colour atm and I love the wee cones. Certainly my Hostas have also enjoyed the sunny summer. I have never seen so many flowers on all of them.

 

The cedars a lovely shape silu beautiful tree, and those hostas not a slug hole in sight!!!!
Finding the slugs and snails everywhere at the moment grr, I have a pair of shoes I leave outside the door for when I nip to the bin etc one in there the other day not a nice crunching sound on bare feet

Now you mention it, the hostas are flowering well this year, mine are doing well too. But they are a getting a bit lacy now! Yours look superb.
Just love your big tree - wish I had more garden so could have trees like that.

Alstroemeria psittacina seems a little late this year, but it's taller and stronger than it's ever been..............

Silu, your tree is stunning! Have you any idea which Cedar it is?

 

Thank you Sheal, yes I am very fond of her, she is Cedar Atlantica Glauca. She really does have a great shade of slate blue atm. Many a winter I've been out bashing snow off her as if we get loads she has lost the odd enormous sweeping branch. I know I should probably prune the branches but much of her charm beauty is in her branches which all but touch the ground. A few years ago I wanted to get rid of a manure heap and plonked loads round this Cedar OMG she put on about 3 ft of growth that year!

 

Thanks Silu. Cedars have such a relaxed sweeping form with their branches and so easy on the eye. Coastal position, sandy soil, I've got no chance!

Silu the wee cones are really lovely and your hostas are so healthy - how come the snails have not been after them? Mine are in shreds in spite of trying everything possible.
